#11: AWP's Profit % is HIGHER than Enagic's!
|
Cathleen LoGrasso makes a HIGHER profit percentage, from selling her Nexus Smart 7P ionizers, than Enagic distributors make from selling Kangen water machines!
And we have the proof.
This is the machine Cathleen LoGrasso sells.

Below, you will see the ionizer on her product page, with the SKU number listed also.

You can find this exact machine, with the exact same SKU number (SMV112TL), on a site called Alibaba. and they sell for $450 to $500. This ionizer is manufactured by a company called Ionia (we're not sure why Cathleen LoGrasso lied about where the machines were from, but... maybe she didn't want someone finding out the real specs on this machine).
Please note that, by common retail standards, her profit margin (about 70%) is not considered an unfair one.
It is typical for re-sellers to purchase products from Asia, for about 30-35% of what the retail price will be.
This is because sellers have a LOT of expenses to pay for. Things like websites, domain hosting, advertising, an internet connection, cell phone, and the biggest thing of all... their own living expenses, while they're spending their unpaid time emailing and communicating with people (with no guarantees whatsoever, that they will make any sales at all, that month... no matter how many hours they've worked).
But Cathleen LoGrasso has SOME NERVE, trying to make people think her profit margin is actually LOWER than what Enagic reps make!
What a hypocrite!
Did you know that you can find out what the wholesale cost is, of an ionizer, by going to a global trading company called Alibaba? Anyone with a registered account can make an inquiry, to find out what the REAL cost of a machine is!
If you go to THIS PAGE, you will see that the Nexus Smart 7P ionizers can be purchased wholesale, through this site. And if you make a purchase inquiry, you will find that these machines can be purchased for as low as $450 per unit, if you get them in a large quantity. The higher cost per unit (if just 100 are ordered) is $500.
It seems fair to assume that Cathleen sells a lot of these machines, and therefore, is getting the getting the "lower end" price. After all, you can't escape her ads on the internet, claiming that the Nexus Smart 7P is not only better than an Enagic machine... but it's also only 1/3 the price!
So, let's say the Smart 7P ionizers cost Cathleen $450 per unit. Add on $50 per unit for shipping and import fees, so her cost per machine is really about $500.
That means that, with a retail price tag of $1695,
she is making $1,195, on a $450 unit
(in other words, she pockets more than twice what it costs to make the machine).
When Cathleen LoGrasso makes a profit of 70.5%...
she is making a higher profit percentage than what ALL Enagic distributors (usually 2-3) involved in one transaction, make, combined (64.2%)!
The markups for Life Ionizer are even higher than what Cathleen LoGrasso makes, as you can see from the chart below. And the markup for Tyent machines is even higher than that!
Machines from South Korea are typically very cheap to make ($499 for a 7-plate ionizer), so the importer can keep 73-77% of the retail price.
And we have the proof.

Machines from South Korea are typically very cheap to make ($499 for a 7-plate ionizer), so the importer can keep 73-77% of the retail price.
But an Enagic machine costs $1400 just to manufacture it, which means less than 65% goes to the distributors.
In other words, if you get an Enagic machine (which cost $1400 to manufacture), vs. a cheap machine that cost just $450 to manufacture...
YOU GET 3X THE VALUE!
#12: Enagic's Compensation Plan: The Reality
|
Did you know that no more than 5 distributors can be paid in 1 Enagic sale? And in most cases, just 2-3 are paid. But SIX people get paid when you buy an ionizer from Alkaline Water Plus!
Cathleen LoGrasso (and many of Enagic’s competitors) want you to believe that 8 people are paid in one Enagic sale, because many people will automatically believe: That must be why they cost more! But the real reason an Enagic machine costs more, is simply because an Enagic machine costs 3x more to make. It has nothing to do with the # of people paid, and ironically, Enagic has a lower markup than most ionizers.
Enagic uses only the best parts to build their durable, reliable ionizers, so customers will be able to have long-term satisfaction!

#13: The Importance of being an O.E.M.
|
Cathleen LoGrasso is not an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). She’s an importer - AKA a “middle man,” or Private Label Re-seller - who is juggling the sales of dozens of brands of ionizers at once.
But when you buy your machine from Enagic, you are purchasing it direct from the MANUFACTURING COMPANY (in the US). This means you get a BETTER DEAL, and you will always be able to reach the company directly, if you really need to!
#14: "Medical Certification" from Korea...
|
Korean water ionizers can be considered a Class 1 Medical device. Enagic’s competitors will say they’re “certified” as medical equipment, but the TRUTH is: they don’t need to have the same strict qualifications as Enagic. Some Korean manufacturers just need to fill out an application & pay a fee! But every single Enagic machine goes through regular, rigorous inspections & tests (a 22-point inspection, by 5 different inspectors)! Enagic has certification by Japan’s Ministry of Health (their version of the FDA), and is recommended by 6,500 doctors... including the cardiologist to the President!
What is ISO 13485? The following info is from the ISO website:
ISO 13485:2003
Medical devices -- Quality management systems --
Requirements for regulatory purposes
This standard has been revised by: ISO 13485:2016
Abstract
ISO 13485:2003 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to provide medical devices and related services that consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory requirements applicable to medical devices and related services.
The primary objective of ISO 13485:2003 is to facilitate harmonized medical device regulatory requirements for quality management systems. As a result, it includes some particular requirements for medical devices and excludes some of the requirements of ISO 9001 that are not appropriate as regulatory requirements. Because of these exclusions, organizations whose quality management systems conform to this International Standard cannot claim conformity to ISO 9001 unless their quality management systems conform to all the requirements of ISO 9001.
All requirements of ISO 13485:2003 are specific to organizations providing medical devices, regardless of the type or size of the organization.
You can see Enagic's ISO Medical Certification certificate, HERE.
And this is from the Enagic website:

ISO 13485 signifies that our quality management system demonstrates its ability to provide medical devices and related services that consistently meet consumer and regulatory requirements applicable to medical devices and related services. Kangen Water systems are currently used in over 200 hospitals in Japan today.
You may have noticed that just about all other ionizer comanies like to brag that they have ISO certification.
But what they have is ISO 9001 Certification, and ISO 14001... and neither are considered medical certification.
And keep in mind... ISO stands for INTERNATIONAL Standards of Organization... so, it would be applied to KOREAN medical devices, as well, if they were TRULY considered to be MEDICAL devices... but they're not. The ISO does give other certifications to the Korean ionizers (ISO 9001, ISO 14001), which those companies like to brag about... so, clearly, if they were eligible for ISO 13485, they'd be brgging about that, too... but they're not able to get it!
For the record, Enagic has these same certificates the other companies have (ISO 9001 and ISO 14001). This info was taken directly from the Enagic website.

ISO 14001 is the world's most recognized environmental standard. Our certification to this standard ensures that we've mapped out a framework for environmental management with the best practices to help minimize our environmental footprint. Specifically, we work to secure materials with a low environmental load, to reduce, reuse and recycle waste, and to conserve natural resources and achieve energy-efficiency in order to prevent global warming. Our team observes all laws, regulations and standards with regard to the environment and safety. Our employees are thoroughly trained to raise their awareness of environmental and safety issues for the prevention of environmental and work-related accidents. All practices and procedures have been certified by an official registrar.

Our ISO 9001 certification means that our quality management system has been audited and reviewed by an official registrar to ensure that our systems are focused on meeting customer's expectations through certified procedures and a continual improvement process. We never waiver in our commitment to provide products that contribute to improved health and to the global environment, coupled with best-in-class quality and customer service.
#15: Who is REALLY the manufacturer?
|
Cathleen says the Nexus machines’ manufacturers have been making ionizers for over 20 years, and they’re “of the highest quality anywhere.” But…it’s strange that our searches for a water ionizer company called Nexus Co., LTD or Entech Co., LTD produced no results...(at least, not on the first 5 pages of Google).
You'd think that such a dominant leader in the ionizer industry (which had been manufacturing ionizers for over 20 years) would be on the first page of google... or at least, the company wouldn't be nearly impossible to find!
What we did find, was a Sewage Treatment company, and a Plastic Injection Molding Company. Is that who’s making those “medical grade” ionizers? Or is there some reason Cathleen doesn't want you to know the TRUTH about who makes the Nexus Smart 7P ionizer?
Further research revealed that the Nexus Smart 7P is actually manufactured by a company called Ionia, and the company has a lot of specifications that are quite different from what Cathleen says the specs are.

Is that why she doesn't want people to know who manufactures the machines?
